Project Title: Free Arts Education Programs
Project Description:
ArtsQuest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania who provides access to art, culture, and educational programs. In 2025 ArtsQuest began constructing a new 80,000-square-foot, five-story building that will serve as a hub of visual arts, education and creativity. ArtsQuest’s Creative Factory powered by PPL will offer expanded access to classes, studios, galleries, performances, and educational programming seven days a week. This exciting space is designed to empower students to explore creativity, experience the arts, learn new skills, and bring bold ideas to life in a welcoming, collaborative environment to significantly increase educational outreach and impact.
ArtsQuest’s Creative Factory will provide dedicated space for expanded multidisciplinary afterschool programs, and an art based early childhood learning program. The area surrounding the campus will include an active lawn space for outdoor classes and camps, performance, public art, and digital design displays. The Creative Factory will feature expanded hot glass, ceramics, and jewelry studios; add new digital and sound studios; will include expanded galleries and classrooms, a 125-seat black box theater, a Makerspace for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) programming, and a dedicated space for healing art & music programs.
ArtsQuest and Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) established a high school career pathways program for students in Arts & Communications. The Creative Factory will serve as a community resource for students to engage authentically in performance, media programming, music production, and other creative enterprises. Students will have access to resources and expertise that go well beyond school walls, introducing them to careers in the media arts. Professional Teaching Artists will provide mentorship and career education opportunities, and ArtsQuest staff will coordinate job shadowing, internships, mentorships, service-learning projects, and community-based projects that are tied to each student’s Pathway Portfolio.
