Project Title: Backpack Peoria
Project Description:

DCP is scheduled to host the 24th Annual Backpack Peoria on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, from 9am until noon. We will be offering 2,000+ backpacks filled with school supplies to give students confidence as they start the upcoming school year. DCP is thankful to be able to partner with Peoria Public Schools and 35-40 community agencies for this event.

Along with the backpacks and school supplies that day, there will be medical professionals available for school physicals and dental exams, Health Department staff will be administering immunizations, the DCP Mobile Hair Salon will have stylists ready to give haircuts/trims, and other resources are available.

We appreciate the opportunity to come alongside families who otherwise might be struggling to find supplies or to find the finances to pay for haircuts, physicals, etc.

There are 35+ partner organizations from the community offering a variety of resources and information as part of a large expo in our gyms. District 150 Administrative Staff are also available to assist families with registering their children for the school year, and they help grill/serve lunch for everyone who attends.
