Project Title: Supporting Students Who Learn Differently
Project Description:

The mission of Oakwood School is to provide a multisensory education for students with learning disabilities. For 55 years, Oakwood School’s program has supported the needs of children in Virginia who learn differently. Our students come to us after facing academic challenges associated with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and ADHD. Under the guidance of our trained special-education teachers, we are able to help students achieve their unique academic and social potential in a nurturing community environment.

We are requesting funding to support the Bob McIntyre Tuition Assistance Fund. This fund has allowed us to offset the cost of tuition for students with great financial and academic needs, so that they have the opportunity to receive the education, resources, and tools needed to achieve success despite their disabilities. Your support will allow a student who has struggled through traditional academic programs to learn in a dedicated educational environment that is designed to meet their unique needs even when a tuition-based program may seem out of reach.
