Project Title: Driver’s Education for Special Needs Youth
Project Description:

We offer customized driver’s education to youth with intellectual and cognitive disabilities. Youth who have Medicaid waivers can have the cost of the program paid through a tax-generated fund. For youth without Medicaid waivers, this program is usually too expensive. Being able to drive removes the most significant barrier to getting and keeping employment in rural areas. The project would fund two teens with special needs who do not have Medicaid waivers and whose families cannot afford the program to get their driver’s permits and then their licenses or four teens to obtain their driver’s permits.
