Project Title: Infant/Child Food Purchase and School Backpack Program
Project Description:

The students and/or school children being served by this Billings Food Bank (BFB), Inc. School backpack feeding program are enrolled at Elder Grove School – (662), and Elysian School – (391) both located west of Billings and are also enrolled at Huntley Project Schools (748) and Shepherd Schools (785) which are east and north of Billings Heights. All four schools are in located within Yellowstone County, Montana. BFB, Inc. feels that no child, no family should face the humiliation of being denied or embarrassed for asking for food assistance and/or needing help with their lunch/breakfast purchases at school. All of the Schools as well as the School staff involved with Billings Food Bank’s Back Pack Feeding will encourage students and/or their families in taking time to apply for the School’s Free and Reduced Breakfast/Lunch programs.

Geographical Area Served: This BFB, Inc. – School Backpack Program is part of the local effort to help fight "childhood hunger/homelessness" within Yellowstone County and the (16) Counties located in this region of Montana: to include Big Horn, Carbon, Custer, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Garfield, Golden Valley, Judith Basin, Fergus, Meagher, Musselshell, Treasure, Park, Petroleum, Rosebud, and Wheatland) along with (2) Indian Reservations: Crow Nation & Northern Cheyenne.
Age Group To Be Served: Age groups and the percentage of those Infants/Children who are impacted or served by this School Backpack Program: Children (0-12) & Youth (13-18) – 33.25%.;
