Project Title: School Based Enrichment
Project Description:

Girls Inc. of Orange County’s School-Based Enrichment Program delivers research-based programming directly within school sites, ensuring consistent access to academic support, social-emotional learning, and enrichment opportunities for students who may otherwise face barriers to participation. Implemented in partnership with local schools, the program serves elementary, middle, and high school students through structured, on-campus sessions that align with school-day or expanded learning schedules.

Through a combination of evidence-based curricula and hands-on activities, participants build critical skills in literacy, STEM, health and wellness, and leadership development. Programs such as Trusting My Instincts and Mind+Body Matters foster confidence, healthy decision-making, and emotional resilience, while academic enrichment supports reinforce learning and encourage curiosity. Students also engage in creative and collaborative activities that strengthen communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.

The program prioritizes accessibility and equity by serving students in under-resourced communities, many of whom are from low-income households, attend Title I schools, or are the first in their families to pursue higher education. By embedding programming within schools, Girls Inc. reduces common barriers such as transportation, cost, and scheduling, creating a safe, supportive environment where students can thrive.

Led by trained staff and supported by strong school partnerships, the School-Based Enrichment Program provides consistent mentorship and positive role models, helping students develop the skills, confidence, and aspirations needed to succeed academically and beyond. Through this integrated approach, Girls Inc. equips students to navigate challenges, pursue their goals, and grow into strong, smart, and bold leaders!
