Project Title: 2027 Professional Development Workshop Series
Project Description:
Arts Mid-Hudson seeks support for its Professional Development Workshop Series, designed to strengthen the creative workforce pipeline for high school and college students, as well as emerging artists and nonprofit leaders across New York’s Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties.
As the region’s designated arts council, we recognize a critical gap between arts education and sustainable career pathways. Many high school and college students, along with early-career creatives, lack access to practical, career-focused training in areas such as marketing, budgeting, grant writing, networking, and advocacy—skills essential to long-term success in the creative sector.
Our workshop series addresses this need by providing accessible, practitioner-led learning opportunities taught by professionals actively working in the field. Recent topics have included marketing strategy, financial management, grant writing, audience development, and building sustainable organizational practices. These sessions equip participants with real-world tools to navigate careers in the arts and creative industries.
Funding will allow Arts Mid-Hudson to remove financial barriers by offering workshops at no cost to high school and college participants while providing stipends to high-caliber professionals leading each session. This ensures equitable access to workforce development opportunities and high-quality instruction.
We anticipate delivering 12–15 workshops annually, serving approximately 150–200 participants, with a focus on building a clear pipeline from education to employment in the arts. By investing in this initiative, the Hermanowski Family Foundation will help cultivate a more prepared, connected, and sustainable creative workforce that benefits both young people and the broader regional economy.
