Project Title: Keeping Pediatric Families Close to Care
Project Description:

When a child requires specialized medical care far from home, families often face overwhelming emotional and financial burdens. HavenHouse St. Louis provides safe, comfortable lodging for patients and their families who must travel to St. Louis for medical care that is unavailable in their home communities. By offering an affordable place to stay near major medical centers, HavenHouse ensures families can remain together and focused on their child’s care during a very difficult time.
Funding from the Hermanowski Foundation will support 25 nights of lodging for pediatric patients and their families/caregivers. These stays will provide families with a welcoming environment where they can rest, receive two meals a day, and find comfort while their child undergoes treatment. Having a stable and supportive place to stay reduces stress, allows caregivers to remain close to their child’s medical team, and ensures that young patients are surrounded by the people who support them most.
HavenHouse serves families from all over the country who must seek specialized pediatric care in St. Louis. Many of these families come from rural or underserved communities where access to advanced medical treatment is limited. Without lodging support, the cost of hotels, meals, and transportation can quickly become an additional hardship during an already challenging time.
By supporting this project, the Hermanowski Foundation will help ensure that pediatric patients and their families have access to affordable lodging, compassionate support, and a place of comfort while navigating serious medical treatment.

Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): For this fiscal year (ending on 6/30/26) we have received support from St. Louis Blues for Kids, the Hatfield Foundation, the Heffernan Foundation, Veterans United Foundation, the Jordan Charitable Foundation, Enterprise Mobility, Boeing ECF, the Orthwein Foundation, Republic Community Foundation, The Optimist Club of St. Louis, and the Integra Foundation.
