Project Description:

Apogee 307 Foundation requests $5,500 to equip our campus STEAM center with essential supplies and materials to support a high-demand, hands-on science enrichment program for our K–6 students.

Upon entering the program, each child completes an interests inventory to guide personalized learning paths. Results show STEAM as a high-focus area across the board, with over 90% of our 20 full-time students (plus 10+ homeschool participants) expressing strong interest in pursuing STEAM-based fields. Our current STEAM center lacks major supplies for experiments, engineering challenges, and inquiry-based projects, limiting our ability to fully engage this enthusiasm.

We have partnered with The Science Zone for a 13-week interactive science program. including weekly lessons on topics like forces & motion, earth/space science, life cycles/ecosystems, chemistry, and engineering; two immersive inflatable planetarium sessions; and a culminating Family Science Evening with interactive stations and student demonstrations.

The $5,500 will fund critical STEAM supplies (e.g., lab materials, manipulatives, building kits, safety gear, and consumables for experiments/projects) to make the program fully accessible and hands-on. Total program cost is $3,220 (lessons $2,470, planetarium $300, family event $450), with the remaining funds building long-term STEAM inventory for ongoing campus use.

This investment will ignite curiosity, build scientific thinking, and foster real-world skills in a personalized, interest-driven environment. It strengthens community ties through family involvement and addresses educational gaps in Casper by providing equitable access to enriching STEM experiences for underserved students (~70% low-income, scholarship-supported).

Funds will be used within the program timeline, with measurable outcomes including student engagement surveys, project portfolios, and family feedback showing increased interest in STEAM pursuits.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to developing confident, capable young leaders. Thank you for considering this opportunity to inspire the next generation of innovators.

Total Project Budget: $49,500
