Project Description:

Healing Hearts Pet Therapy Inc. provides animal assisted counseling for children and families to support mental health and emotional well being through the healing power of the human animal bond. We offer trauma informed counseling sessions where a trained clinician partners with a certified therapy animal to help children feel safe, regulated, and engaged in the therapeutic process. Our approach is especially supportive for children experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, behavioral challenges, and the effects of trauma including homelessness, family disruption, and exposure to substance use or violence.

In each session, the therapy animal helps reduce stress responses, build trust, and increase communication, allowing children to express feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Services include individual counseling, family sessions, and group based skill building that strengthens coping strategies, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and resilience. Activities may include guided interaction with the therapy animal, structured therapeutic games, mindfulness exercises, and social emotional learning tasks tailored to the child’s developmental level.

The project expands access for children who face barriers to care by providing services at no cost through community partnerships and outreach locations. Healing Hearts Pet Therapy also educates caregivers and community partners on the benefits of animal assisted counseling and practical strategies to support children’s emotional well being at home and in school.

A Perfect Swing Foundation(501c3) (EIN# 47-1925614) was established to foster youth development in the Carolinas by ensuring that deserving young people, from every walk-of-life, can be exposed to this great game and the accompanying valuable life lessons to be learned from playing Golf.
We established the APS Foundation to provide free youth membership programs for children and youth ages 6-18, delivering free golf instruction, course access, club outings, equipment, clothing, and mentorship to foster their success beyond golf.Since our program inception, we have exposed more than 2500 youth in the Carolinas to the game of golf. We will continue this effort this year and would like to request your assistance. Among these youth, 45 were male and 55 females; 95% identified as African American/Black, 2% Latinx, 1% Asian, and 2% Caucasian. Our participants achieved a 100% high school graduation rate and every youth reported that their involvement with A Perfect Swing positively impacted their lives. On the third Saturday of each month, we offer in-person life-skills sessions led by professionals from a variety of fields, giving our youth practical tools and knowledge to empower their future success.

KC Clay Guild, founded in 1988, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving nearly 900 members and 2,000 students annually through inclusive, high-quality ceramic arts education for all ages and abilities. Supported by 60+ active volunteers and 15 highly experienced teaching artists. The Guild offers sliding-scale pricing and extensive charitable programming, including approximately 400 hours of no-cost instruction each year for urban core school districts and partner nonprofits serving adults with disabilities. KC Clay Guild also operates one of the nation’s top-funded Artist in Residence programs, supporting four international artists annually with stipends, private studios, and professional resources. To meet growing demand, the organization is renovating a 18,600-square-foot ceramic arts center in Midtown Kansas City with the support of BNIM and Forge Construction, that will dramatically expand access through new studios, energy-efficient kilns, 50 potter’s wheels, a dedicated gallery, Kansas City’s only ceramic supply shop, and expanded free and paid programming; all 25 rental studio spaces are already fully leased. The $2 million capital campaign is 50% complete as of January 2026, bolstered by a $500,000 matching grant from The May Family Charitable Fund with $300,000 remaining to match, and KC Clay Guild seeks a $10,000 grant from The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Foundation — funds that would be fully matched—to help complete this transformative regional arts resource.

One of ICA’s most pressing needs is to complete a dedicated science classroom. Presently, our faculty teaches courses such as biology and chemistry in a general-use space that is not equipped for hands-on laboratory instruction. While our teachers are creative and resourceful, the lack of appropriate facilities limits our ability to provide students with the full scope of experiential learning that is essential to the science education they deserve.
A well-designed science classroom would enable students to safely conduct laboratory experiments, observations, and demonstrations that deepen their understanding and reinforce classroom instruction. These experiences are critical not only for academic comprehension but also for cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. As a Christian school committed to excellence, we believe students should have opportunities to explore scientific concepts in ways that are both intellectually robust and aligned with a biblical worldview that values discovery.
This need is further underscored by our anticipated growth in the coming school year. We project that ICA’s enrollment will double by the fall of 2026. As our student body expands, it is essential that our facilities grow accordingly. Designed to address the unique emotional, social, and behavioral challenges faced by military-connected youth, Camp Corral’s summer camps offer a safe, inclusive environment where children can heal, build resilience, and form lasting connections with peers who share similar experiences.

In summer 2026, Camp Corral will partner with accredited camps across the country to deliver one-week, overnight camp sessions at no cost to families. Programs feature traditional camp activities alongside structured, trauma-informed programming focused on social-emotional learning, confidence building, and healthy coping skills. All camps are led by trained staff who understand the complexities of military family life and the impacts of service-related trauma.

Camp Corral removes financial, geographic, and emotional barriers to participation, ensuring access for families regardless of income or location. Each child’s experience is intentionally designed to foster belonging, independence, and joy—outcomes that are often difficult to achieve in daily life for children navigating ongoing stress at home.

Project Title: Ready Before Kindergarten: Closing Developmental Gaps in the First Three Years
Project Description:

The earliest years of life shape everything that follows. As Neurons to Neighborhoods reminds us, early experiences build the foundation for brain development, learning, behavior, and long-term health. Saint Francis Children’s Center (SFCC) ensures that infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities in Milwaukee receive specialized intervention during this critical window — when support has the greatest lifelong impact.
SFCC is one of only three agencies contracted by Milwaukee County to deliver the federally mandated Birth to 3 Program under IDEA Part C. The program serves children under age three with diagnosed disabilities or at least a 25% developmental delay across cognitive, physical, communication, social-emotional, or adaptive development. Each child is supported by a dedicated service coordinator and a multidisciplinary team of pediatric therapists and special educators. Services are delivered in the child’s natural environment — most often the home — where parents are coached to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routines. The goal is clear: close developmental gaps before children enter Kindergarten, increasing school readiness, independence, and long-term success.
SFCC also addresses a critical barrier through its Gear for Growth Lending Library. When therapists identify a need for adaptive mobility, communication, feeding, or sensory equipment, insurance approval can take up to six months — a significant lost window for development. The Lending Library provides immediate, short-term access to curated adaptive equipment so children can continue progressing while families determine the best long-term fit. This prevents regression, strengthens therapy outcomes, and empowers caregivers.
Despite its impact, the Birth to 3 Program operates at a deficit, as public funding does not cover full service costs. A $6,000 grant will help sustain intensive early intervention and expand access to critical adaptive tools at the moment they matter most. Thank you for your time and consideration. Our Aviation Discovery Day Camp is a weeklong, immersive STEM and career-exposure program designed to improve and transform the lives of children and young adults by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to achieve their full potential. Serving youth ages 8–16, the program aligns closely with the foundation’s mission to support educational initiatives that address all aspects of a child’s development up to age 21.
The five-day camp introduces students to aviation through a structured, hands-on learning experience that builds knowledge, curiosity, and real-world awareness. On Day One, campers explore what they already know about aviation while participating in engaging activities that introduce basic aerodynamics, navigation, and problem-solving concepts. Knowledge is power, and this foundation prepares them for deeper experiences throughout the week.
On Day Two, learning comes to life as students tour NY Stewart Airport, explore aircraft components, visit the air traffic control tower, and observe aircraft operations, fueling, ground handling, and passenger services. Day Three offers a discovery flight in a single-engine aircraft or time on our full-size advanced flight simulator, reinforcing STEM concepts through experiential learning.
Day Four expands career awareness through visits to aviation organizations, including corporate flight departments, where students meet dispatchers, maintenance technicians, flight operations managers, and administrative professionals. On Day Five, campers reflect on their experiences through guided discussions, followed by a family picnic and graduation celebration that includes feedback from parents and guardians.
Beyond aviation knowledge, the camp emphasizes mentoring, communication skills, academic enrichment, and personal growth in a safe, inclusive environment. Campers gain exposure to diverse aviation careers while building confidence, curiosity, and a broader vision for their future.
