Project Title: Branching Out
Project Description:

Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens offers an innovative program designed to support emotionally and behaviorally challenged students. "Branching Out" is designed to harness the therapeutic power of art and nature for students who often find themselves on the margins of traditional educational experiences.
The program emerged from a simple observation: students who struggled within conventional classroom walls often thrived in natural, creative environments. "Branching Out" is a structured program that now serves over 100 students annually from Indian Ridge School for students whose emotional and behavioral challenges can create barriers to accessing cultural institutions. "Branching Out" offers exposure to nature, art and history, and provides a rare opportunity to experience arts education in a space where students’ unique perspectives are celebrated rather than corrected.
Each visit incorporates three core elements: exploration, creation, and reflection. Students begin by exploring different areas of the property which includes the rare palm collection, Ann Norton’s historic home, Artist Studio, and monumental outdoor sculptures. This phase is followed by hands-on creative activities that respond to their experiences, ranging from sculpture and drawing to poetry and singing. Finally, structured reflection sessions help students process their emotional responses and integrate their learning.
What distinguishes "Branching Out" from typical field trips is its continuity and personalization. The program creates an ongoing relationship between students and ANSG, and the opportunity to be mentored by the Artist in Residence. Small group sizes (maximum 12 students per session) allow for individualized attention from educators and artists, who work closely with Indian Ridge staff to tailor approaches to each student’s specific needs and interests. The consistent environment, together with familiar faces, creates a safe space for challenged students.

Project Title: STEM Flights Expansion
Project Description:

STEM Flights is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring middle and high school students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through free, hands-on aviation experiences. By pairing students with volunteer pilot mentors, we provide one-on-one flight experiences that serve as powerful catalysts for youth engagement in STEM fields.

Our program targets students aged 12–18, with a particular emphasis on reaching rural youth who often lack access to experiential STEM learning opportunities. Participants complete an online STEM curriculum, receive a personalized flight experience, and gain ongoing access to educational resources and mentorship through our STEM Flight Following™ program.

Since our inception in 2018, STEM Flights has expanded operations to 49 states, engaging over 15,000 students annually through the dedication of our volunteer pilot network. Each flight mission not only introduces students to the principles of flight but also ignites a passion for STEM careers, fostering confidence and ambition.

With a grant of $10,000 from the Hermanowski Family Foundation, we aim to expand our reach by recruiting additional volunteer pilots, enhancing our digital curriculum, and increasing outreach to communities with limited STEM resources. This funding will directly support the coordination of flight experiences, development of educational materials, and implementation of evaluation tools to measure program impact.

Our goal is to empower the next generation of STEM professionals by providing transformative experiences that open doors to future educational and career opportunities. Through this initiative, we strive to create lasting change in the lives of young individuals, equipping them with the skills and inspiration to succeed in STEM fields.

Project Title: Project Hope 2025
Project Description:

Feeding Families is the flagship initiative of The African American Association of USA, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity and supporting underserved families across Metro Atlanta and 15 surrounding counties. Each month, we serve over 1,100 families — many of whom are seniors, veterans, low-income households, and single parents — by distributing boxes filled with nutritious food, hygiene products, and essential household supplies.

Our project is designed not only to address immediate hunger, but to restore dignity and stability for families living in crisis. By delivering culturally appropriate, nutritious food along with toiletries and daily essentials, we meet people where they are — often at the intersection of poverty and hopelessness. The program also provides resource referrals for housing, employment, and health services to help families transition from surviving to thriving.

With demand increasing due to inflation, job loss, and economic hardship, our 2025 goal is to expand our reach to serve 1,500 families each month. Grant funding will directly support food purchases, transportation, packaging, and volunteer coordination necessary to sustain and scale our operation.

This program aligns with our mission of creating sustainable, community-rooted change by removing barriers to basic human needs. Feeding Families not only provides critical relief—it builds hope, resilience, and the foundation for generational progress.

Project Title: Open my store.
Project Description:

Business Name: Nithopeseint Printing
Mission: To empower businesses, events, and individuals with high-quality, customized printing while inspiring single mothers and my community through faith and perseverance.

My Story: Turning Struggle into Strength
As a single mother of two, I know what it means to fight for a better future. In 2019, I started Nithopeseint, printing out of necessity—creating my own wedding souvenirs when I couldn’t afford a traditional vendor. What began as a personal solution blossomed into a thriving passion. Today, I design wedding souvenirs, birthday memorabilia, church programs, and business flyers, serving my community with creativity and dedication.

But my vision goes beyond printing—it’s about breaking barriers. In my area, there’s only one local print shop aside from big chains like Staples. With this grant, I won’t just open a store—I’ll build a hub for creativity, entrepreneurship, and hope.

Why Invest in Nithopeseint Printing?
✅ High Demand, Low Competition – My community lacks affordable, personalized printing services. This grant will help me secure a prime location and fill a critical gap.

✅ Expansion & Innovation** – Funds will go toward *laser and embroidery machines*, allowing me to offer premium custom branding for businesses, schools, and events—setting me apart from competitors.

✅ Economic & Social Impact – Beyond profits, my business will:
– Inspire single mothers** (proving that setbacks can become comebacks).
Create jobs as I grow.
*Serve local churches, schools, and small businesses with affordable design solutions.

A Legacy of Faith & Resilience
This grant isn’t just funding a business—it’s fueling a movement. I want my daughters to see that divorce isn’t a death sentence**—it’s an opportunity to rise stronger, lean on God, and chase dreams fearlessly. *"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Phil. 4:13)*

With your support, Nithopeseint Printing will:
✔ **Launch a brick-and-mortar store** within 6 months.
✔ **Double my client base** by offering embroidery and advanced printing.
✔ **Become a community symbol of resilience**—proving that with faith and determination, **anything is possible.**

Join me in Making History
By funding Nithopeseint Printing, you’re not just backing a business—you’re transforming lives**, uplifting a single mother, and investing in a future where struggle breeds success.

*Let’s make this dream a reality—one print at a time.*

Project Title: Children’s Needs – Project Joy
Project Description:

Our Children’s Needs Program is the core of what we do and the most comprehensive support we offer, serving more than 2400 youth a year. This program is designed to stabilize vulnerable families and meet the urgent needs of children who are in, or at risk of entering, the foster care system.

We work directly with Case Managers and Child Protection Investigators who identify specific needs for the children they serve. From there, we move quickly to fill the gap—whether that means delivering essentials like diapers, clothing, and car seats, or helping cover the cost of things that bring a sense of normalcy, like summer camp, music lessons, or a school field trip.

No two children’s situations are the same, but all children deserve to feel safe, supported, and included. The Children’s Needs Program makes that possible.

We’re requesting this grant to help 100 children in foster care take part in enrichment activities that let them feel like kids again and ease the stress and anxiety caused by the trauma they’ve experienced.

Total Project Budget: $500,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): We don’t have any identified funders for this particular project within our children’s needs program. We do have funders such as Franklin Templeton that awarded us a grant to cover the expense of laptops as educational needs, the Broadrick Family Foundation that provided a grant for beds and the United Way Pasco that provided a grant for safety items needed for licensing a home.
