Project Title: BFCC Expansion
Project Description:

Obtaining part or all of the funding needed to complete this project will change many lives. BFCC will have a massive impact on the community, especially with its approach to moms helping moms. This program is critical and needed by the community for various reasons. Some of these are the cost of childcare, the quality of education, and the unemployment rate. According to the CDC Statistics on infants in 2020, there was a number of births of 3,613,647. With women having children at a rate of 9,900 children per day.

It is needless to mention that the cost of childcare in a healthy, safe environment with quality education is expensive. We are a group of women working to bring Bearable Foundations Childcare Center to life. Every single one of the women who will work for this organization has children and can relate not only to moms but also to single dads and families. The founder, Shiquita Whitaker, is more than able to relate to families that have multiple children. She is a single mother of twin boys who understands other parents’ struggles because she has had to experience them firsthand.

There will be fewer unemployed parents or non-graduating parents from high school to college if we can relieve them of the burden of placing their future on hold because of childcare. It is essential to also provide the parents with the peace of mind needed to go to work and leave their children with loving caregivers you can trust.

Project Description:

Thank you for selecting Hopecam to receive a gift of $5,000 this year. We are honored to be selected by your foundation. The grant you provided to Hopecam helped us to make a big impact on children with cancer. Hopecam’s mission is to overcome the social isolation experienced by children diagnosed with cancer by virtually connecting them with their classmates, doctors and support systems. To make these connections, we provide tablets, laptops, WIFI access and Hopecam resources at no cost to schools or families. This year, with your support, we virtually connected a record 390 homebound children with cancer and 650 in-patient children with cancer to their classmates. Thank you.

With your continued support, the 2022 “Champions of Hope” initiative will allow us to expand into new communities and serve more children with cancer at a time when they need connectivity more than ever. The total cost of this project is $27,000, with more than half already funded by committed partners. We invite you to once again join this effort to lift the spirits of children as they undergo treatment for cancer.

Project Description:

Essential Item Delivery Service is our program that delivers items to foster, kinship, and biological families with an open child welfare case right to their door within 48 hours after a referral is made. Our goal in delivering these items is to ease the burden of the family who is stepping up to care for these vulnerable and hurting children. We strive to provide the highest quality items to children, making sure they are feeling loved and worthy with every single delivery.

We have found a deep need for this type of service among the foster care community, especially in South Florida. We have connected with the licensing agencies as well as the Community Based Care centers to help as many families as we can.
