Project Title: Life Coach Academy – UBU 100
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Life Coach Academy is a youth development program that supports middle school students at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in Richmond, Virginia. The program focuses on helping students build the academic, social, and emotional skills needed to succeed in school and transition successfully into high school and beyond. Many of the students served come from communities facing economic hardship and limited access to mentorship and enrichment opportunities.
\nThrough Life Coach Academy, trained Life Coaches work directly with students during the school day, after school, and through summer programming to provide structured lessons in leadership development, time management, anger management, professionalism, and college and career readiness. The program also promotes healthy decision-making, emotional regulation, and positive peer relationships. Students are encouraged to develop their voices as leaders, build confidence, and explore their interests and talents through activities that include team building, mentoring, and exposure to career and educational opportunities.
\nLife Coach Academy works closely with school staff, families, and community partners to support the whole child. By connecting the home, school, and community, the program provides a supportive environment where students can develop the life skills necessary to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
\nSupport from the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation will help expand access to mentorship, educational enrichment, and wellness programming for students who benefit from additional guidance and positive role models. Through this program, Life Coach Academy aims to strengthen student engagement, improve school outcomes, and empower young people with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in school and life.<\/p>\n
