Students receive coordinated supports such as mentoring, tutoring, attendance interventions, behavioral skill‑building, and access to essential resources,s including food, clothing, hygiene items, and transportation assistance. These services help stabilize immediate challenges while strengthening protective factors that improve attendance, behavior, coursework performance, and long‑term engagement in school.

In addition to academic and basic‑needs support, CIS Rowan provides robust college-and-career readiness programming. Through initiatives such as My Future Me, college tours, workforce exposure opportunities, and leadership development workshops, students gain the knowledge, confidence, and real‑world experiences needed to pursue postsecondary education, technical training, or employment. These programs help students understand how their education connects to future goals and community impact.

CIS Rowan is also preparing for expansion into two additional schools during the 2026–2027 school year in response to rising student needs and requests from district leadership. This growth will allow the organization to reach more youth experiencing chronic absenteeism, academic struggles, and family instability.

Funding from the Hermanowski Foundation will directly support the delivery of these essential services, ensuring that students and families continue to receive the wraparound supports needed to remain engaged in school, build resilience, and achieve long‑term success.

Total Project Budget: 720719

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Committed Funding CIS Rowan has secured strong financial commitments from local school districts, foundations, and community partners who invest in the delivery of integrated student supports across Rowan County and Kannapolis City Schools.
