The COVID pandemic hit our organization hard. Our main source of income, the Assistance League of Redlands Thrift shop was shut down for several months twice. After the county provided opening guidance, we implemented recommendations and cautiously reopened 3 shortened days a week which is only half of normal operating hours. Income is also expected to be about $150,000 less this year. <\/p>\n
One of the most critical programs is our Dental Center. We provide low cost, full-service dentistry, preventative and palliative care for the uninsured, underserved, homeless and low-income children, adults and seniors without regard to race, religion, age or LGBT status. We also provide services to the homeless and other very low-income people at our Free Clinic. We are particularly proud of our Kindergarten program where we do a dental evaluation each Spring and look forward to restarting as soon as the schools reopen full-time. <\/p>\n
The Dental Center has spent a great deal of our funds to re-open the Dental Center after a 3-month closure. We predict that the Dental Center will fall short about $30,000 this year. Since our main funding source, the Thrift Shop, is also running at half speed, we are concerned about the longevity of the Dental Center program. If you partner with us, you will join with us in providing dental care to the needy thus making their overall health and lives better.\n<\/p>\n
