Designed for youth in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing/Woodlawn area, the program provides structured weekend sessions led by trained coaches and mentors who model encouragement, discipline, and teamwork. Participants improve cardiovascular endurance, coordination, agility, and strength through warm-ups, skill progression (turning, footwork, routines), fitness challenges, and group practice that keeps youth engaged and moving.

Beyond physical activity, Jump for Health supports youth development by reinforcing goal-setting, leadership, communication, and healthy decision-making. Short wellness lessons and check-ins are woven into sessions to promote hydration, nutrition basics, stretching/recovery, and stress management—skills youth can apply at home and in school. The program also creates a positive alternative to idle time by offering consistent supervision and a sense of belonging, helping youth connect to peers and caring adults.

The cycle ends with a youth showcase and celebration where participants demonstrate skills, celebrate growth, and invite families to join in building a healthier community. Overall, Jump for Health aims to reduce sedentary behavior, increase regular physical activity, and empower youth with lifelong habits that support wellness, resilience, and success.

Total Project Budget: 10000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): 2500

Project Duration: 6 Weeks
Geographical Area Served: Grand Crossing (Chicago, IL.)
Age Group To Be Served: 8-18

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Mrs.
Contact First Name: Paulette
Contact Last Name: Jones
Contact Title: Executive Director
Contact Phone: 773-552-2393
Contact Email: info@jumpingjuniors.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Beautiful Beginnings to Lasting Legacies Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Jumping Juniors Mailing Address: 6749 S CHAMPLAIN AVE City: Chicago State: Illinois Postal Code: 60637 Main Phone: 773-552-2393 Main Fax: Organization Website: www.jumpingjuniors.org Employer ID Number: 85-3428686 Organization Tax Status: 501 (c) 3 Nonprofit Proposal […]

[3

post-9498","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
