What began as a partnership with Tennessee State University’s Speech and Language Pathology Department is expanding into a broader literacy access and development model.

In collaboration with TSU graduate clinicians, children and adults participating in speech and language therapy receive culturally responsive books that reflect diverse identities, languages, and lived experiences. Therapy sessions are built around these texts to support articulation, vocabulary development, comprehension, expressive language, and confidence in communication. By pairing literacy with therapeutic practice, participants strengthen both their voice and their academic foundation.

In addition, AtoZ Learning Club is partnering with Little Free Library initiatives to expand equitable access to diverse books in under-resourced communities. Through book distribution, Little Free Library placements, and community-based literacy engagement, Stories Like Me extends beyond clinical settings and into neighborhoods, ensuring families can continue reading, practicing language skills, and building literacy at home.his initiative demonstrates how literacy is not just about reading, it is a tool for development, confidence-building, and long-term academic success. By combining therapeutic literacy practices with community book access, Stories Like Me promotes a culture where every child and adult can see themselves reflected in stories, strengthen their voice, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Total Project Budget: $20,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Little Free Library and Tennessee State University

Project Duration: March 2026 to February 2027
Geographical Area Served: Nashville, Metro Nashville
Age Group To Be Served: All Ages

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Miss
Contact First Name: Robin
Contact Last Name: Griffin
Contact Title: Founder
Contact Phone: 6158527412
Contact Email: Robin@atozlearningclub.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: AtoZ Learning Club Legal Name (if Different): AtoZ Learning Club Also Known As: AtoZ Learning Club Mailing Address: 1109 Woodland St. #68098 City: Nashville State: TN Postal Code: 37206 Main Phone: 6158527412 Main Fax: Organization Website: https://atozlearningclub.org/ Employer ID Number: Organization Tax Status: Non-Profit Proposal Information Today’s […]

[3

post-9454","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
