Rising Stars Academy of Dance & Performing Arts (RSA) seeks $10,000 to expand Arts to Infinity, a youth development initiative providing arts education, academic tutoring, and wellness programming to underserved youth in Houston\u2019s Hiram Clarke community.<\/p>\n
In our neighborhood, over 86% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and many local schools no longer offer consistent fine arts programming. As a result, youth face limited access to creative outlets, academic support, and structured after-school enrichment. RSA addresses this gap by delivering high-quality, subsidized programming directly within the community.<\/p>\n
Through Arts to Infinity, students participate in weekly classes in dance, theater, and visual arts alongside structured math and literacy tutoring through our STAR Tutoring Program. Middle and high school students also engage in leadership development workshops, college exposure opportunities, and mentorship that build confidence and long-term educational aspirations. Families are invited to participate in wellness-based engagement events that promote mental health, creativity, and community connection.<\/p>\n
Funding from the Hermanowski Foundation will directly support teaching artist stipends, certified tutoring staff, art and academic supplies, transportation for cultural enrichment experiences, and program evaluation. This investment will allow RSA to serve approximately 125 youth annually with consistent, structured programming that improves academic engagement, artistic skill development, and social-emotional growth.<\/p>\n
For many of our students, RSA is the only accessible arts and enrichment provider within a 10-mile radius. By removing financial and geographic barriers, we are cultivating confident, creative leaders prepared to thrive academically and contribute meaningfully to their communities.<\/p>\n
