PACIFIC KIDS has partnered with Cribs for Kids a national Safe Sleep Ambassador to bring awareness to sudden infant death syndrome and prevention strategies. Parents that complete Sleep Safety training are given a free crib to create a safe and nurturing environment for their baby. PACIFIC KIDS serves cities surrounding Seattle, WA. In King County, WA infants born to Native mothers die at a rate of 19.2 deaths per 1,000 live births and infants born to Black mothers die at a rate of 8.2 deaths per 1,000 live births which is a significantly higher mortality rate when compared to infants born to White mothers die at a rate of 3.2 deaths per 1,000 live births.

PACIFIC KIDS trains parents on how to safely sleep their baby and create a safe sleep environment. PACIFIC KIDS distributes cribs to families who complete Safe Sleep Training. PACIFIC KIDS created brochures that demonstrate consideration for Native and Black mothers and their specific infant mortality issue. These brochures are distributed to healthcare providers who service perinatal, neonatal and pediatric patients. PACIFIC KIDS canvasses healthcare providers, school districts, and adjacent informed groups to create partnerships and a pipeline of referrals into the Infant Sleep Safety Training program.

Total Project Budget: 50,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Cambia Health Foundation

Project Duration: 2025
Geographical Area Served: Washington State
Age Group To Be Served: 0-1

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Cassandra
Contact Last Name: Davis
Contact Title: Executive Director
Contact Phone: 707-676-0715
Contact Email: pacifickidsorg@aol.com

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Prevent Abuse Children Infants Families In Favor of Community Legal Name (if Different): Prevent Abuse Children Infants Families In Favor of Community Also Known As: PACIFIC KIDS Mailing Address: 522 W Riverside Ave Unit 5193 City: Spokane State: WA Postal Code: 99201 Main Phone: 707-676-0715 Main Fax: […]

[3

post-9324","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
