Many of the young people we serve are carrying more than backpacks. They carry stress, grief, pressure, and uncertainty about their future.

We created Safer Community as a preventative space — where teens are not judged or reduced to statistics, but seen as leaders in the making.

Each week, youth gather in a structured, supportive environment that begins with mindfulness and grounding practices to strengthen emotional regulation and focus. Sessions move into conflict resolution, nonviolent communication, leadership development, and honest conversations about responsibility, choices, and vision. Participants are paired with consistent mentors who model accountability, compassion, and high expectations.

The program goes beyond conversation. Teens engage in meaningful community service projects that allow them to practice leadership in real time — building confidence while contributing to their schools and neighborhoods.

Safer Community is rooted in prevention. When teens learn to pause before reacting, communicate instead of escalating, and see themselves as capable and valued, discipline issues decrease and hope increases. We are interrupting patterns before they harden.

At Dreamcatchers for the Soul, we believe young people rise when surrounded with structure, love, and belief in who they can become. Safer Community helps them grow from the inside out into resilient leaders who strengthen their families and communities.

Total Project Budget: 13000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Broward Parks and Rectreation

Project Duration: Year following the grant for 32 weeks
Geographical Area Served: 33319 zipcode
Age Group To Be Served: 12-18

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: PAMELLA
Contact Last Name: Reid
Contact Title: Executive Director
Contact Phone: 9545580632
Contact Email: pam@dcfts.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Dreamcatchers for the Soul Foundation, Inc Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Mailing Address: 12968 SW 21ST ST, MIRAMAR, FL 33027 City: MIRAMAR State: FL Postal Code: 33027 Main Phone: 9545580632 Main Fax: Organization Website: www.dcfts.org Employer ID Number: 461867323 Organization Tax Status: Dreamcatchers for the […]

[3

post-9266","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
