TUAC defines at-risk youth as young people requiring temporary or ongoing intervention to succeed academically. According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch (January 2026;ed 2( c), the \u201cSt. Louis public school system has lost its accreditation. This can cause low student self esteem and lead to criminal delinquency.\u201d OYB not only tutors youth in STEAM, AI, and coding in our facility, but also mentors them. This program was primarily established to help such youth go on to college or trade school and remain out of gangs and the penal system. OYB functions yearly, both during the school year and during the summer months, as a computer camp as well. We at TUAC believe that education is key to making our youth more productive and self-sufficient in their lives and careers. We at TUAC also believe that "it does take a village to raise a child."This grant will help us contract over 500 mentor\/tutors who will help our clients in STEAM mentorships. It should also be mentioned that OYB utilizes qualitative and quantitative client entrance and exit surveys to assess each yearly class.<br \/>\n OYB has staff that are well versed in their respective professions. They include teachers,<br \/>\n counselors, and mentors. OYB has been in operation for over 15 years. OYB operates via:<br \/>\n1.) Client referral via teacher and parent recommendation (Month 1)<br \/>\n2.) Client assessed for tutoring\/mentoring needs (Months 2-12)<br \/>\n3.) Client matched with a tutor\/mentor that matches client needs (Months 2-12)<br \/>\n4.)
