Project Title: Child Screening Service with Early Mental Health Component

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley\u2019s Child Screening Services (CSS) with Early Childhood Mental Health
\n(ECMH) identifies developmental delays and behavioral health concerns in children ages 0\u20135. Program staff
\nconduct free developmental and mental health screenings in area childcare centers, checking for indications
\nthat a child has reached appropriate developmental milestones. If milestones are delayed or unmet, referrals
\nare made for appropriate intervention services. The goal is that children will have caught up with their
\ntypically developing peers by the time they enter school. The program also includes Therapeutic Intervention
\nPreschool (TIP) classrooms for children with significant needs. TIP classrooms provide intensive support to
\nprepare students for mainstream education by maintaining high teacher to student ratios and staffing
\nclassrooms with early childhood mental health professionals. Services are free to families and focus on
\nunderserved communities in the Miami Valley.<\/p>\n
