For over two decades, BBF has supported students facing systemic academic and financial barriers by providing consistent mentorship, enrichment, and access to opportunities that promote long-term educational success.
BBF serves approximately 1,500 students annually, supporting them from elementary school through postsecondary pathways. Through BBF’s mentorship program, Thriving Under The Influence, students receive ongoing academic support, tutoring, leadership development, and guidance that builds confidence, persistence, and future orientation. BBF also expands access to underrepresented fields through the Dr. Ernest E. Just Youth Science Program, which offers hands-on STEM learning experiences and science camps that expose students to new academic possibilities and diverse role models.
In addition to academic programming, BBF reduces financial barriers to education by providing scholarships and paid leadership opportunities through its Youth Ambassador program, having invested over $1.5 million in scholarships since its founding. General operating support will allow BBF to maintain program staffing, strengthen partnerships with local schools, and respond flexibly to student needs as they arise. This investment ensures BBF can continue delivering consistent, high-quality educational support that empowers students to succeed academically and shape their futures.

Total Project Budget: $2,500,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Contracted Services, Grants, Fundraising, Donations

Project Duration: October 2026 – October 2027
Geographical Area Served: Los Angeles County
Age Group To Be Served: 8 – 21

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Ayanah
Contact Last Name: Shabazz
Contact Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Contact Phone: 213-272-5309
Contact Email: ashabazz3787@gmail.com

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Bridge Builders Foundation Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Mailing Address: 3787 S Vermont Ave City: Los Angeles State: CA Postal Code: 90017 Main Phone: 323-282-7827 Main Fax: Organization Website: https://www.bridgebuildersla.org/ Employer ID Number: 33-0846590 Organization Tax Status: 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization Proposal Information Today’s Date: 01/04/2026 […]

[3

post-8796","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
