Project Title: The Nicky O Afterschool Program
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
The Nicky O Afterschool Program, conducted in collaboration with Plainville Public Schools, is a free of charge, after-school program. The program was created to honor the creative spirit and compassion of Nicky O\u2019Neill, who at 18 years of age was the youngest person to die in the Station Nightclub fire in West Warwick in 2003. This free, arts based, afterschool program launched in 2025 and was a tremendous success in its goal of providing enriching opportunities for local children in need \u2013 all part of the Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children\u2019s mission of uplifting and supporting youth through access, inclusion, and community-centered care. <\/p>\n
In 2026, the Nicky O Afterschool program is seeking to expand the program offerings to three times as many children as in the pilot year in 2025. With additional support the program would be able to expand further, providing more children with a safe, creative, and supportive environment. <\/p>\n
