Art Mentorship for Kids \u2013 Bless the Children Project<\/p>\n
The Art Mentorship for Kids & Teens program, a key initiative of the Bless the Children Project (501c3), provides meaningful, hands-on arts education to underserved children and youth in the rural community of Mount Shasta, California. Our mission is to inspire creativity, build confidence, and nurture emotional well-being through high-quality visual and media arts experiences for ages 7\u201312.<\/p>\n
Launched in 2018 and set to relaunch this year with expanded offerings, the program operates in partnership with local schools and libraries to ensure accessibility for families facing geographic and economic barriers. Many of the children we serve come from low-income or single-parent households and would otherwise have no access to arts instruction or mentorship.<\/p>\n
Our curriculum combines foundational art skills\u2014drawing, painting, digital illustration, storytelling, and basic animation\u2014with social-emotional learning and youth empowerment. Students are guided by experienced professional artists and mentors in small-group sessions that foster both technical growth and self-expression.<\/p>\n
Measurable outcomes for each 12-session program cycle include:
\n\t\u2022\t100% of enrolled students completing an original art portfolio
\n\t\u2022\t80% demonstrating increased skills in drawing and composition (pre\/post evaluation)
\n\t\u2022\t90% showing improved confidence and creative problem-solving, as reported by parents and teachers
\n\t\u2022\tCommunity art exhibition and digital gallery to showcase student work<\/p>\n
Our goal is to cultivate joy, resilience, and creative thinking\u2014skills that empower children far beyond the classroom.
