Recognizing the systemic barriers that formerly incarcerated women face—especially in securing basic necessities—this program focuses on two foundational areas: food security and housing stability.

Many women returning home encounter immediate challenges that threaten their successful reentry. These include an inability to afford rent, lack of employment, limited access to healthy food, and minimal social support. Restoring Grace steps into that critical gap by providing direct rental assistance and food support for up to six months while women stabilize, access employment, and rebuild their lives.

Through individualized case management and peer-led support, the program helps participants develop housing plans, connect to workforce resources, and receive trauma-informed guidance. Grocery assistance is offered through vouchers, delivered food boxes, or coordination with local food pantries, ensuring women and their families do not face hunger during this pivotal time.

What makes Restoring Grace unique is its leadership. The program is guided by women with lived experience who understand the emotional and logistical complexity of reentry. Their voices shape every part of the initiative—from how services are delivered to the partnerships we build in the community.

Restoring Grace is not just about food and shelter—it’s about restoring self-worth, agency, and long-term opportunity. By investing in women’s reentry with compassion and practical resources, we reduce recidivism, reunify families, and build stronger communities where no one is left behind.

Total Project Budget: $55,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Churches, Corporate, Private

Project Duration: 12 months
Geographical Area Served: Vance, Franklin, Granville, Warren Counties
Age Group To Be Served: 19 – 60

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Mrs.
Contact First Name: Anita
Contact Last Name: Bennett
Contact Title: Executive Director
Contact Phone: 910-301-6231
Contact Email: abennett@newlifeconnection.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: New Life Connection Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Mailing Address: 1110 Wake Forest Road City: Raleigh State: North Carolina Postal Code: 27604 Main Phone: 9845008207 Main Fax: Organization Website: www.newlifeconnection.org Employer ID Number: 56-2043482 Organization Tax Status: Non-Profit Proposal Information Today’s Date: April 24, 2025 […]

[3

post-8371","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
