\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Overflowing Love: Summer Food Support for Elders & LGBTQIA+ Youth is a compassionate initiative by You Are the Overflow designed to provide nourishment and care to two often-overlooked communities; elderly individuals and LGBTQIA+ youth. Running from June through August 2025, this summer-long program will deliver weekly food boxes filled with fresh produce, shelf-stable meals, hydration items, and personal care essentials. Each box will also include a handwritten note of encouragement and information about local wellness and crisis support services. Our goal is to serve 150 individuals weekly; 75 seniors and 75 LGBTQIA+ youth particularly those facing food insecurity, housing instability, or social isolation.<\/p>\n
In addition to direct deliveries, we will host monthly \u201cCommunity Connect Days\u201d to offer expanded resources such as free haircuts, wellness checks, and mental health referrals. Volunteers will help pack and distribute boxes, fostering community engagement and inclusion. We will also collaborate with local LGBTQ+ centers, affirming churches, and senior networks to ensure outreach is broad and culturally competent.<\/p>\n
With an estimated budget of $10,000, this project aims to deliver over 950 meals while promoting dignity, support, and visibility for these vulnerable populations. Overflowing Love is not just about food\u2014it\u2019s about affirming identity, restoring hope, and reminding each recipient that they are seen, valued, and never alone.
