We kindly appeal to The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation for a $10,000 investment to bolster Northeast Community Center’s flagship program, Harmony Project KC. Your generous contribution will empower us to maintain our commitment to nurturing the talents of the 371 students we currently serve while expanding our reach to serve the 166+ children on our waitlist eagerly hoping for their chance to participate.<\/p>\n
Your support plays a vital role in our mission to cultivate the next generation of talented musicians during the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. In 2023-24, Harmony Project KC (HPKC) provided access to the arts through intensive orchestral music education delivered through leveled instrument classes, ensemble rehearsals, chamber music programming, performance opportunities, private lessons, workshops, and music therapy. <\/p>\n
To reduce barriers to arts access while providing safety during critical after-school hours, all HPKC programs are tuition-free for families.<\/p>\n
Music is how children enter our doors, but once they are here, it is so much more. In a neighborhood with 25+ languages spoken, music is the universal language. Together, we are orchestrating a thriving community through access to music education and wraparound services including educational and supportive programs!
\nAll HPKC students and families also have access to wraparound services, Path to College and Care Services. Path to College partners with students and their families (primarily first-opportunity college students) to achieve higher education and career goals. This includes individualized college guidance counseling, scholarship application support, college tours, career discernment and mentorship, and a guaranteed college scholarship for Harmony Project KC graduates of up to $8,000.
\nThrough Care Services, a family advocacy and empowerment model, we offer programming and support responsive to family interests and needs. Programming includes a family assistance fund, financial and digital literacy classes, music therapy, on-site counseling, connections to partner agencies and more.<\/p>\n
