Project Title: Open-Access Dance Enrichment for All Abilities

Founded in 2016, Rivertown Dance Academy (RDA) has become a pillar in the community as a non-profit organization committed to delivering excellence in dance education, open to all. Centrally located at 69 N. Broadway in Tarrytown, NY, RDA offers year-round classes for dancers of all ages and abilities, from 18 months through later adulthood. Classes include technique-based, high-quality dance instruction in a range of styles – ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, theatre jazz, hip hop, contemporary, tap, and early childhood dance – as well as exposure to other dance traditions through guest choreographers for performing ensembles, including Bollywood, Ukrainian folk dancing, swing, flamenco, and others. In 2025, RDA developed programming specifically for older adults, including those with dementia, and dancers with disabilities.<\/p>\n
RDA is unique in offering financial aid to any student with demonstrated need: no student is turned away because of an inability to pay tuition.

To support their mission, RDA seeks funding to increase outreach to encourage participation among students who struggle to pay tuition, those with disabilities, and older adults. Additional funding is being sought through Kids’ Club to support needs-based financial aid for youth students and through ArtsWestchester to support overall programming (funds have been provided through these organizations in previous years). RDA seeks an additional $10,000 to bridge the gap in increasing outreach, financial aid, and new programming specifically for older adults and students of all ages with disabilities.<\/p>\n
