Led by our community coaching team, we will provide “After School Cru”, an after-school basketball program that serves young people (elementary through high school) within El Paso and Teller Counties, CO, during the spring and early summer. Our target audience is players who do not compete in organized school sports, allowing them to enjoy organized sports in a positive, supportive environment. This program will culminate in a basketball league, giving players a goal to aspire towards and the chance to use their developed skills in friendly competition.

We will provide sessions for up to three days per week. These sessions will combine basketball-specific skills training with team-building games and activities. Players who are offered the space to grow as healthy athletes, strong leaders, and positive change agents strengthen their communities as they become adults.

After School Cru provides the following outcomes:
– Basketball Skills Training: sessions include drills to enhance all basketball-specific skills.
– Fitness Training: Each session is designed to incorporate fun ways to exercise through basketball.
– Team Building: Group games and activities encourage players to form relationships, communicate, and work as a team to achieve common goals.
– Instilling Positive Values: Sessions include teaching about core values and encouraging individual moral growth for each player.

Total Project Budget: $38,200

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Individual contributions, Grants, and ongoing fundraising activities.
