The primary method used to fulfil this mission is through adult-child mentoring. Children referred to the program by counselors or teachers based upon need for structure, academic support, compassionate care and love. Children are matched with a caring, supportive mentor who meets with the child weekly, primarily outside of school hours. Mentors, students, and parents decide on the specific schedule and activities relative to their availability and interests. The focus is on building a relationship, so the student has a trusted, consistent adult who encourages healthy, positive choices and development of life skills. We believe that children are most likely to reach their full potential when they have positive adult support.

This funding will provide group activities throughout the school year. These activities nurture the bonds between the students and mentors, teach students new skills and information, and expose them to experiences they might not otherwise have access to. Activities focus on enriching and expanding students’ knowledge, skills, and worldviews. Funding provides us the ability to continue to provide these trips to the students and their mentors at no cost to them as it covers all travel expenses and materials for each activity.

Total Project Budget: $24,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): United Fund, committed; Privet Donations, potential

Project Duration: November 2025 – September 2026
Geographical Area Served: Cumberland County, Tennessee
Age Group To Be Served: Pre-K through 12 grade students (ages 4-18)

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Sarah
Contact Last Name: Dickenson
Contact Title: Program Director
Contact Phone: 931-459-2388
Contact Email: sarahd@kidsontherise.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Kids On The Rise Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Mailing Address: 348 Taylor St. City: Crossville State: Tennessee Postal Code: 38555 Main Phone: 9314592388 Main Fax: Organization Website: www.kidsontherise.org Employer ID Number: 34-1974412 Organization Tax Status: Non-Profit Proposal Information Today’s Date: March 27, 2025 Requested […]

[3

post-7889","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
