Project Overview:<\/p>\n
Young Life West Volusia is a faith-based mentorship organization that builds relationships with middle school, high school, college, foster care, and special needs students, providing community, spiritual guidance, and leadership development. Our Leader Development Initiative at Stetson University aims to recruit, train, and equip 15-20 new Young Life leaders who will mentor and support students across West Volusia.<\/p>\n
Statement of Need:<\/p>\n
Currently, 33 leaders serve Young Life West Volusia, reaching 825 students, with 156 attending weekly clubs. Each leader typically connects with 25 students, meaning that adding 10 more leaders would expand our reach by 250 students. As DeLand High School\u2014the largest in Volusia County\u2014continues to grow, the need for more trained mentors is critical.<\/p>\n
Use of Funds:<\/p>\n
Grant funding will support:
\nLeader Recruitment & Outreach \u2013 Engaging Stetson students to serve as Young Life leaders.
\nTraining & Development \u2013 Providing mentorship, discipleship resources, and hands-on leadership training.
\nLeadership Retreats \u2013 Offering focused retreats for spiritual growth, team-building, and skill development.<\/p>\n
Expected Impact:
\nThis initiative will increase Young Life\u2019s reach in local schools, providing mentorship and faith-based guidance to more students. Trained leaders will positively impact the next generation by fostering community, faith, and leadership.<\/p>\n
