Project Title: Camperships for Children and Teens with Medical Needs
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Camp Holiday Trails is a nonprofit camp for children and teens with medical needs. Campers with diagnoses including diabetes, cancer, asthma, cystic fibrosis, bleeding disorders and others are welcomed into the supportive community and are able to embrace life thrive. They participate in adapted traditional summer camp activities like horseback riding, rock climbing, swimming and fishing and reap the benefits of being in nature. There is a full medical staff present at Camp enabling Campers to explore and challenge themselves safely. Camp Holiday Trails accepts Campers regardless of their ability to pay. The average session costs exceed $2,500 per child; however, the average Camp family, who are often burdened with medical bills, can afford to pay just $125. This grant would allow CHT to accept children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Camp Holiday Trails and experience the support of this community that focuses on the child not their diagnosis. <\/p>\n
