HOBA House Community Arts Organization is seeking funding to support our free weekly Art Club, which primarily serves school-age children in Cloverport. As there is no art education program in the local school system, Art Club provides a critical creative outlet where young artists can explore different mediums, develop skills, and connect with peers under the guidance of trained artists. Unlike our structured classes, Art Club offers open-ended creative time, allowing students to work at their own pace.<\/p>\n
Cloverport is a small, economically disadvantaged community where many families face financial barriers to extracurricular activities. To ensure accessibility, we provide all art supplies free of charge. Currently, we host 15 students weekly, but with an upcoming move to a larger space, we plan to expand to 20\u201325 students per session. Due to high demand, we also intend to introduce a second, teen-only session to better serve older youth.<\/p>\n
To sustain and expand this vital program, we are requesting funding to replenish supplies and replace worn-out equipment. Items such as paints, brushes, sketchbooks, and sculpting tools require frequent restocking, and essential equipment like easels and tables need maintenance or replacement. A $5,000 grant would fully fund a year\u2019s worth of supplies, but we can effectively utilize any amount to continue providing this free resource to our community.<\/p>\n
By investing in Art Club, funders will help ensure accessible, high-quality arts programming that fosters creativity, self-expression, and personal growth. This program not only nurtures artistic talent but also provides a safe, positive space for youth to engage in meaningful activities. With continued support, HOBA can expand Art Club\u2019s reach, making art accessible to more children and teens in Cloverport.<\/p>\n
