I am excited to introduce LivFree Inc., a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and seek support for our Moments of Joy program. Founded in 2016 after our daughter Lauren\u2019s leukemia diagnosis, LivFree delivers uplifting experiences\u2014sporting events, theme park outings, Broadway shows\u2014to kids with cancer and their families, offering a break from treatment\u2019s challenges. Since starting, we\u2019ve helped over 700 families nationwide. <\/p>\n
Our Moments of Joy program tackles the emotional and social toll cancer takes on entire families\u2014parents, siblings, and the child in treatment. Each experience, averaging $1,500, includes tickets, transportation, and meals, ensuring accessibility for all. In 2025, we aim to reach 150 families, strengthening partnerships with Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven and Connecticut Children\u2019s Medical Center in Hartford. We complement Make-A-Wish by supporting kids ineligible for their wishes\u2014those who\u2019ve relapsed or are over 18\u2014while prioritizing whole-family relief.<\/p>\n
We request $7,500 to fund five family’s’ moment of joy, aligning with the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation’s commitment to improve and transform the lives of children and young adults. This grant will deliver immediate respite, fostering hope and connection. Success will be measured by family participation, satisfaction surveys (aiming for 90% positive feedback), and completed outings. We sustain this work through fundraising events, grants, and local sponsorships, ensuring long-term impact.<\/p>\n
