Project Title: Lemonade Day
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
I would like to introduce you to Lemonade Day, a community-wide program focused on
\nentrepreneurship and financial literacy. This initiative is part of a national effort dedicated
\nto teaching youth how to start, own, and operate their own businesses through the simple
\nyet impactful experience of running a lemonade stand. Lemonade Day is a strategic 14-
\nstep process that guides youth from a dream to a business plan while teaching them the
\nsame principles required to start any big company.
\nIn our after-school programs, students are registered to participate and receive a
\nbackpack containing an Entrepreneur Workbook. This workbook guides them through the
\nvaluable lessons of Lemonade Day, including goal setting, planning, execution, and
\nrealizing their dreams.
\nWe have been pleased with our partnership with the City of Albuquerque, as it has allowed
\nus to extend our community outreach to children who may not attend our programs,
\nteaching them that they can become young entrepreneurs. The program culminates in an
\nexciting day of operation known as Lemonade Day, held in Old Town Plaza on the 2nd
\nweekend of May! After their day of operation, our young entrepreneurs pay back their
\ninvestors, keep the remaining profits, and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and
\nshare some by giving back to the community<\/p>\n
