Project Title: Kristi House\\’s 20\/20 Visionaries: Committed to Ending Child Sexual Abuse
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Therapy is a critical component in helping children overcome the trauma of child sexual abuse. Kristi House remains the only agency in Miami-Dade County providing specialized mental health services regardless of families\u2019 ability to pay. Because untreated child sexual abuse often manifests itself in health, sexual and social problems throughout life\u2014and at a considerable cost for all involved\u2014it is vitally important that Kristi House provides sexually abused children with mental health services. <\/p>\n
Despite limited public funding and a need for services that outpaces capacity, in 2015 Kristi House is marking 20 years of uninterrupted service to Miami children. Some 15,000 children have received services, and Kristi House has grown into a leadership organization in our state and nation. This has only been possible with the support of private individuals and foundations who have enabled Kristi House to steadily grow operations to meet community needs. The Board and its Strategic Plan have placed a strong emphasis on increasing private support and growing the endowment fund to carry us into the future.<\/p>\n
20\/20 Visionaries are those foundations, corporations and individuals who understand the importance of Kristi House and the work that has been accomplished \u2014 and see clearly the work that needs to be done over the next 20 years. These Visionaries believe passionately in our mission, care deeply about the children and families we serve and want to help ensure our long term growth. Our goal is to secure 20 Visionaries, each making a $20,000 gift to Kristi House (over one or two years.)<\/p>\n
We invite Hermanowski Foundation to join us as part of the 20\/20 Visionaries with a $20,000 grant to be used for vital therapy services\u2014so that every child gets the help he or she needs to overcome the trauma of sexual abuse.<\/p>\n
