Our organization’s mission is to bring the light to schools within the Isaac, Fowler, and other school districts. Through this project, we pack and provide food boxes for around 15 different schools and 1,700 families for the Thanksgiving holiday; each of these boxes go to feed 4 people. The food we provide includes a nutritious Thanksgiving meal for a whole family. In these boxes, we put canned vegetables such as corn and green beans. We also provide a turkey voucher, giving them the opportunity to get a healthy turkey for their family. During the fall semester, our school will unite and fundraise to provide Thanksgiving meals as well as Christmas gifts for many families within these communities. Since we aim to provide as much love and support as possible, we will extend our fundraising goals into the Christmas season by collecting Christmas gifts for the students at Alta E Butler, J.B. Sutton, and refugee families. These food boxes and gifts are directly delivered to the students and families. We feel it is also our responsibility to help the struggling refugee families, as well as the schools. Refugees have the constant struggle of not being able to provide, they have had to restart their lives, and anything we can do to help is very appreciated by them. Not to mention, all the extra food we have left goes to food banks in the community. We typically spend around $65,000 on this project, using it on food, boxes, toys, ect. As this is our fifteenth year with the Sutton project, we can ultimately see the goodness of the project through its continuous blessings for this struggling community. We hope to continue this life changing project for years and years to come.<\/p>\n
