The Wildly Inclusive Learning Collective (WILC) Co-op, a branch of the WILC foundation promoting and educating the community around inclusive education, is a self-directed, inclusive educational program dedicated to creating affirming and supportive learning environments for learners of all ages, abilities, and neurotypes. <\/p>\n
Our project aims to secure funding to expand our program resources and financial aid, ensuring equitable access for underserved and low-income families, and to enhance resources for learners and facilitators. With a neurodivergent population of 95% and 65% identifying as LGBTQIA+, the WILC Co-op addresses critical gaps in traditional education by fostering a child-centered, strength-based learning environment. Funding will directly support scholarships, learning materials, field trips, and facilitator costs, empowering more learners to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By investing in the WILC Co-op, stakeholders can help create transformative educational opportunities for marginalized learners and build a more inclusive community.<\/p>\n
WILC Co-op addresses a critical gap in education for marginalized learners, particularly those who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and from BIPOC communities. Traditional educational settings often fail to provide the necessary emotional, social, and academic support for these populations, leading to disengagement, underachievement, and, in some cases, severe mental health challenges. These issues are particularly pronounced for neurodivergent learners and LGBTQIA+ youth, who frequently face environments that lack understanding, inclusivity, and affirmation of their identities.<\/p>\n
Funding is essential to ensure that WILC can continue to meet the needs of underserved populations. Financial aid is critical to enable low-income families to access our programs, while additional resources are needed to maintain and enhance our inclusive learning environment. It is our top priority to be accessible to all learners, no matter of socioeconomic status.\n<\/p>\n
