FLIPANY has a unique opportunity in Miami-Dade County. There are approximately 22 afterschool programs in disadvantaged neighborhoods that are on our waiting list to receive Cooking Matters nutrition education programs. An anonymous Family Foundation has generously offered to match ($1 for $1) all donations from now until September 29th, 2014 up to $25,000.<\/p>\n
FLIPANY has served 935 youth, teens and parents last year alone though the evidence based Cooking Matters program that connects low-income families with food by teaching them how to shop for and prepare healthy, tasty meals on a limited budget. Chef and nutrition instructors lead hands-on courses teaching adults, teens and youth how to purchase and prepare nutritious foods in healthful, safe and tasty ways. <\/p>\n
We are seeking $2,500 that will be matched to assist us reaching our fundraising goal of $25,000 that will secure $50,000 of local program funding. We could use your help!<\/p>\n
