Lectura Lounge, the foundation’s first operational project, is a vibrant community reading space for youth of all ages in the heart of Park City. The purpose of the Lounge is to provide an open space that nurtures a sense of belonging and a love of literacy for all its visitors, including English as a Second Language (ESL), multilingual, and Dual Language Immersion (DLI) students in Park City to participate in a variety of extracurricular bi-literacy programs that enhance their language proficiency and lead to greater academic success and opportunity. These programs aim to provide inclusive support for multilingualism and overall literacy by engaging a cross-demographic audience in Park City and its neighboring communities while strengthening cross-cultural ties through reading, writing, and conversational activities.

If awarded, these funds will support the expenses (i.e., staff time, food, books, games, and supplies) of our core programs, including Reading Buddies, ¡Divertimos!, Witty Writers, and Games & Grub. Casey and Charley’s Foundation is committed to covering the administrative expenses of Lectura Lounge, but relies on grants and funding partners to cover a portion of the program expenses.

Total Project Budget: 177,934

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Committed: Utah Humanities Council, Summit County RAP Tax Cultural, Rotary Park City Twilight; Potential: Michael Family Foundation, Dee Family Foundation, Miller Family Foundation, David Kelby Johnson Foundation, Union Pacific Community Ties, Believe in Reading Foundation, Park City Community Foundation

Project Duration: Ongoing
Geographical Area Served: Summit County
Age Group To Be Served: 3-18

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Mrs.
Contact First Name: Maritza
Contact Last Name: Rono Refuerzo
Contact Title: Program Director
Contact Phone: 5103335983
Contact Email: maritza@caseyandcharleys.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Casey and Charley’s Foundation for Dogs and Kids Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Lectura Lounge Mailing Address: 1960 Sidewinder Drive, Suite 106 City: Park City State: UT Postal Code: 84060 Main Phone: 510.333.5983 Main Fax: n/a Organization Website: https://www.caseyandcharleys.org/ Employer ID Number: 47-5191050 Organization Tax […]

[3

post-6727","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
