Project Title: Strumming Songbird Scholars Music Program

The Strumming Songbird Scholars music program at Unity Christian Academy (UCA) is an initiative designed to provide K-12 students with the opportunity to explore and develop their musical talents through guitar
\ninstruction. Students will benefit from learning in a supportive environment with access to quality musical instruments and instruction, including guest lectures from local community volunteers who share their expertise in singing and playing the guitar. UCA currently teaches basic music theory to grades K-2. They want to add guitar to grades 3-4, and then grades 5-12 will continue to advance in their music skills by applying them in the UCA performing arts program that holds annual plays for the community, including singing\/music\/acting. The program aims to enhance cognitive development, boost self-confidence, and promote teamwork and collaboration by integrating music education into students’ academic journeys. The Strumming Songbird Scholars program aspires to inspire the next generation of musicians and creative thinkers through the generous support of the Warrior Club Parent Teacher Organization and the community. We hope to secure the $3,000 funding to purchase the start-up equipment for the program in 2024 and subsequently launch the program in January 2025. No funds would be allocated towards operational costs. All funds will be used to purchase the equipment to start the program.<\/p>\n
