Project Title: Empowering Marginalized Students with Exceptional Educators in Early Learning Environments
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Clover\u2019s Early Head Start program provides year-round quality child care and educational and recreational activities to infants and toddlers between six weeks to two years old. Early Head Start focuses on developing solid learning skills at a young age. These cognitive and behavioral skills play a vital role as young children grow. Our continuity of care strategy allows children to remain with the same teaching team from entry until transition to preschool, which enables solid and positive relationships. With a teacher-to-student ratio of one to four, children can work in small groups with a primary caregiver teacher. This strategy supports individualized instruction in which students work and play with other children to develop positive peer relationships and friendships. We also actively engage parents to participate in their child\u2019s education and create a recognition of the importance of regular attendance to the foundation of their child\u2019s educational career\u2014many children who complete the Early Head Start program transition to our Head Start preschool. The Head Start program prepares preschool children, ages three to five, for successful academic careers by using innovative methods to make learning fun. In addition to foundational preparation for kindergarten, children are instructed in music and movement, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), physical education and health, computer literacy, and the arts.<\/p>\n
