Green River College is an open-access, public institution situated on 180 acres of forest land in Auburn, WA, with additional campuses in downtown Auburn, Kent and Enumclaw The college serves a diverse student body and fosters an environment conducive to learning , growth and life enhancement for students.<\/p>\n
The Green River College Foundation plays a crucial role in supporting the institution\u2019s pursuit of educational excellence. Its vision revolves around ensuring adequate resources to uphold the college\u2019s standards of educational quality.<\/p>\n
One of the foundation’s key initiatives is to provide scholarships to students annually, averaging $2,000 per recipient, which can be utilized for tuition, fees, books, or program-related supplies. These scholarships are awarded based on both financial need and academic merit. <\/p>\n
For scholarships provided by the Hermanowski Family Foundation, the focus would be to award two, $2,000 scholarships to students in the demographic of age 17 \u2013 21.<\/p>\n
Nearly half of the students who applied for foundation scholarships last year were between the ages of 17-21, and nearly half of those applicants were not awarded due to limited funds.<\/p>\n
These scholarships play a vital role in supporting students’ educational endeavors, often serving as a lifeline for those struggling to meet the costs of attendance. Beyond financial assistance, scholarships instill a sense of belief and validation in recipients, providing tangible benefits for their resumes and college transfer applications.<\/p>\n
