Since its establishment, Eliada has made it a priority to care for the neglected, abandoned, abused, and forgotten children of Western North Carolina. Through both prevention and intervention services, Eliada tackles the growing rates of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) that impact social determinants of health. We are seeking funds in support of our Early Childhood Development Center, which encapsulates multiple classroom buildings for infant, toddler, and pre-kindergarten classes and has been awarded a five-star rating.
The vulnerable children Eliada’s Child Development Center serves are food insecure, have experienced family disruptions and toxic stress in the home, and are from primarily low-income families. Over half (69%) of the children served belong to single-parent households and 19% of our pre-kindergarteners have an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Further, Eliada receives a number of referrals from area childcare and child development programs for children with special needs and behavioral challenges. The greatest needs for our center are activities and classroom supplies and enrichment. Our classrooms work with children based on their individual needs and incorporate education, behavioral science (through an on-site behaviorist), therapeutic best practices (through a licensed clinician), and social and emotional learning (SEL). Our centers are always looking to increase the diversity of books available for reading sessions, classroom toys (including stim toys), activity and coloring books, utensils and crafting supplies, and similar items.

Total Project Budget: 78,634

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Buncombe County Early Childhood Education Grant – $10,000, committed; Glass Foundation – $43,000, committed; Early Care & Learning Expansion & Access Grants – $5,000, committed;

Project Duration: 12 months
Geographical Area Served: Buncombe County, NC
Age Group To Be Served: 0-5

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Dr.
Contact First Name: Marilyn
Contact Last Name: Chamberlin
Contact Title: Grant Writer
Contact Phone: 828-399-1445
Contact Email: mchamberlin@eliada.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Eliada Homes Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Mailing Address: 2 Compton Dr. City: Asheville State: NC Postal Code: 28806 Main Phone: (828) 254-5356 Main Fax: Organization Website: https://www.eliada.org/ Employer ID Number: 56-0611587 Organization Tax Status: 501(c)3 Proposal Information Today’s Date: 3-28-2024 Requested Amount: 5000 Project […]

[3

post-5993","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
