Our Mission is to inspire and empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Triple Play is a suite of three targeted programs that work together to promote Healthy Lifestyles. The three programs were intentionally written to build the skills, attitudes, knowledge and behaviors essential to an overall healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating, physical activity and relationship building are addressed in a suite of three easy-to-use resources. Each component is a complete curriculum. Together, they help youth learn to sustain the health of the mind, body and soul. Program includes:
\n\u2022\tTriple Play: Healthy Habits- youth members develop positive attitudes toward healthy eating to support a lifetime of healthy decisions.
\n\u2022\tGardening- The gardens provide educational, hands-on education opportunities for youth to learn about farm-to-table eating, nutrition, plant life cycles, and environmental sustainability.
\n\u2022\tCooking Club- Youth learn the basics of cooking through hands-on, supervised instruction. The program focuses on making healthy choices while preparing food as well as learning how to make food from various cultures.<\/p>\n
Research has shown that evidence-based foundational skills embedded in healthy eating and physical activity initiatives can lead to outcomes shown in the logical models presented above, resulting in youth who make healthy lifestyle decisions and resulting in social, emotional, and physical well-being.\n<\/p>\n
