Project Title: School-Age Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Student Inclusion Initiative
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
The goal of this program is to ensure that children with hearing disabilities have every capability to participate in learning opportunities to maximize their potential alongside their hearing peers, so they may have the best possible chance to succeed in school and in life. This project provides support for up to 4 children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing (D\/HH) who attend and fully participate in our Afterschool\/Out-of-School Time (OST) program for children kindergarten through 8th grade. This project places an ASL (American Sign Language) certified Access Coordinator on-campus to provide academic, language, and literacy support to help our D\/HH youth comprehend their academics and complete homework assignments, as well as facilitate social interaction and engagement in afterschool activities, as there are no other funding sources other than the generosity of our community that help pay for this vital need. <\/p>\n
