Project Title: Altum Institute Missionary Program

The Altum Institute Missionary Program hosts 10-15 individuals as missionaries to help run programs and retreats at Annunciation Heights camp. The missionary year is one of intentional training, formation, and community living, providing participants opportunities to learn valuable leadership skills and deepen their faith. These missionaries live on-site at camp for at least an entire year and are responsible for leading summer youth and family camps, teaching middle and high-school students in our experiential outdoor science lab program, serving guest groups throughout the year, plus a variety of other camp duties. In leading these programs, missionaries guide the youth who attend this camp in activities that deepen their faith, promote positive self-image and esteem, and provide them with skills that build strength and independence. The missionaries are often referred to as the \u201cheart of the Heights,\u201d as, without them, our camp would not be able to offer the robust programming that is currently available for our youth.
\nBetween the summer camps and the outdoor education programming at Annunciation Heights, approximately 1900 youth, mostly ranging from 10-18 years old, participate in programs led by missionaries of the Altum Institute. Campers at our facility spend their days immersed in nature in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, learning about the world around them and their place in it. Additionally, through these programs, they are guided in activities that promote healthy lifestyles while being invited to express themselves in various excursions, small groups, games, and competitions. The Altum Institute is vital to making these experiences happen, and a grant of $10,000 would fund all of the expenses for at least one missionary over the course of a year. <\/p>\n
