Most CSN students identify as both first-generation to college and low-income and are between the ages of 18 and 21. Typical demographics for CSN program participants are: 43% Asian; 27% African American/Black; 17% Hispanic/Latinx; 13% Caucasian/White; 70% Female; 25% Male; 5% LGBTQ. Since 2017, CSN has empowered over 1000 Philadelphia-area FGLI students.

FGLI students are burdened with college debt, under-employment and systemic biases. What makes CSN unique is that we focus on developing FGLI strengths, professional skills and career readiness rather than on degree attainment. CSN works with FGLI students to design and deliver programs that are customized and complement other available resources. Student feedback helps CSN continuously improve and adapt our curriculum. As a result, CSN programs are innovative and allow FGLI students to share their learnings and build relationships with professionals and peers from across different colleges, creating an expansive, diverse, and long-term community support system. With our current budget, CSN empowers 300 students annually from over 20 local colleges.

CSN strives to level the playing field for the large, diverse and underserved population of FGLI students who attend the numerous institutions of higher education in the Philadelphia area by providing (1) more on-line programming and (2) more post-pandemic opportunities for students and professionals to network in-person. Our proposal requests operational funds to enable CSN to continue our adaptive program development in the 2024-2025 academic year. Our aim is to help Philadelphia-area FGLI college students beat the odds, realize their potential and emerge as successful professionals, future leaders and agents of social change. We believe that CSN’s success will be scalable to other cities.

Total Project Budget: $140,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): CSN Advisory Board donations, committed ($25,000) RSM Foundation operational grant, committed ($15,000) Women’s Way operational grant, committed ($10,000) Temple Health grant, committed ($10,000) TIFF donation, committed ($5,000) EY donations, committed ($10,000) Individual donations, potential ($15,000) Other Foundation grants, potential (25,000) Local corporate philanthropy (tbd) Employer partnerships (tbd) Earned income (tbd)

Project Duration: Each fiscal and academic year cycle includes seven multi-session programs and at least six one-time webinars/networking/social events
Geographical Area Served: Greater Philadelphia area
Age Group To Be Served: 18 – 21

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Dr.
Contact First Name: Adrienne
Contact Last Name: Tymiak
Contact Title: Co-Executive Director
Contact Phone: 609-731-5771
Contact Email: adriennetymiak@collectivesuccess.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Collective Success Network (fiscally sponsored by Urban Affairs Coalition) Legal Name (if Different): Urban Affairs Coalition Also Known As: Collective Success Network c/o UAC Mailing Address: 1818 Bethlehem Pike #623 City: Flourtown State: PA Postal Code: 19031 Main Phone: 484-843-3028 Main Fax: NA Organization Website: www.collectivesuccess.org Employer […]

[3

post-5753","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
