Project Title: Florida MLB Players STEM League
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Learn Fresh respectfully requests $5,000 from the Hermanowski Family Foundation in support of our MLB STEM League Program in Palm Beach County, Florida for the 2024-25 academic school year. These funds will allow us to reach up to 3,500 students in the region. MLB Players STEM League cultivates middle-school students\u2019 math and social-emotional skills. The MLB Players STEM League board game features the real stats of current MLB stars. Students compete to solve math problems and score points in a timed setting while working with arithmetic, decimals, percentages, and fractions. This program offers a series of adaptable lessons, allowing students to develop important executive function and social-emotional skills while taking a deeper dive into stats and data analysis in the game. In 2023, the program engaged over 16,000 students across 37 states and 5 countries. The program’s distribution and implementation explicitly focus on achieving equitable representation in STEM fields for girls, students of color, and those living in low-income communities. <\/p>\n
